Say Something Nice

Someone's mama must have given us that special quote we all love: "If you can't say something nice....." My mom is actually one of the nicest people I know, and I do aspire to be more like her (and ultimately more like Christ because she is a very godly woman).

I do believe there is too much negativity and meanness swirling around in this ol' world. It always comes natural to complain or nit-pick, but why does it often take effort to think of nice things to say? Trust me, I speak from personal experience so don't think I'm pointing the finger.

What better post for a blog than to simply say something nice? "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."

Susan S. is a friend from church who I have enjoyed getting to know better. She's a fellow PK and sandal-lover. I admire Susan because she seems to have amazing personal joy. She usually has a smile on her face and something positive to say. I know she's had difficulties in her life, but she portrays peace and understanding. She's a great mom and takes amazing photographs. Everytime I speak with her, I come away with a smile on my face. Thanks, Susan!
