Weather. Or Not.

Yep, those fickle weather people just HAD to be right. Six inches of snow and counting.

It is pretty.

I Guess I'll Be Inside Anyway.

*sigh* It's just teasing me. After a few g.l.o.r.i.o.u.s. 60+ degree Spring-like days, those oft unreliable weather people are calling for snow. SNOW! Let's hope this is a time the weather people are wrong.

But I shouldn't complain too much. If it does snow, it'll be a good excuse to stay inside and watch more Madness.

Still, my fresh predicure looks nice in sandals, not boots.

*sigh*

(This picture was actually taken on Feb. 22. Sandals on snow. Weird, huh?)

Say Something Else Nice

Wintry Blog Mix

We got snowed/ iced in for most of last week. It would seem logical that I would blog more often since I was home. But really, I didn't have much to say. The weather was weird-- a few inches of snow, followed by a few inches of sleet, which promptly froze solid. Our street is still not cleared and my car was stuck this morning. The way to clear the sidewalks was to chop the ice into huge pieces and then pick up and move the pieces.

This is the kind of sledding I like... the kicked-back, let-someone-else-pull-me kind. :) I don't think the dog was too thrilled.

She looks like she's praying to stay on. I was spinning her around and her facial expression alternated between, "This is REALLY fun!" and "I'm so SCARED!"

And, to the right is one of those OOPS moments. Too fun!

Finally!

Up until this weekend, we haven't really had much of a winter. It's been more like Spring in November.... and December.... and January! Finally the temperatures dropped into the frigid zone (well, okay, not according to the North Dakota definition of the word). And today, we even got some of that pretty white stuff falling from the sky!

It's about time! Of course, now I'm hoping for lots and lots of snow and then an early Spring. :) Never satisfied, are we?

Falling Into Autumn

Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Brown.

I believe those of us living in the general vicinity of the North and East never take for granted the beautiful colors of Fall. I love this season and its colors because it always reminds me of the Creator's handiwork. No way evolution could produce such inspiring beauty.

I unintentionally started a Fall tradition: every year around this time, I head up to a local state park via this really fun-to-drive road. I tromp around in the leaves, trying to get the perfect shot. I'm not sure if you can ever truly capture the colors and the beauty, but it's sure fun to try.
