I love hearing what y'all think. Getting reader comments is one of the best things about having a blog.
So, here's a question for you:
What is one job you'd NEVER want to have?
You don't have to post anonymously cuz I'm not guessing on this one. ;-)
I think my answer would be truck driver (the long distance kind). While I sincerely appreciate what they do, I couldn't imagine driving a truck constantly, being away from friends and family, not sleeping in your own bed at night, and almost never eating home cooked meals. I think I'd be really bored which you know is something I'd hate.
So, what about you?

I don't think I could be a CNA (Certified Nurse's Assistant). I couldn't change adult diapers and bathe strangers. My sister did, and she loved her job. She was very good at it, and very compassionate towards the residents in the nursing home. I took care of my Great Grandma for a few years, and it was hard, but, she was family, and that's what made it possible for me. I really appreciate and admire all the people who do work in the medical profession!

Punt returner in the NFL. 12 200-300 pounders sprinting at you full speed, trying to knock your head off. No thanks!
Hmmm...I guess as a brief answer, pretty much any job that has been featured on "Dirty Jobs." I love that show...and I love Mike Rowe's sense of humor...but ugh, those jobs!!! I think I've taken a lot for granted having the jobs that I've had...so thankful that someone is willing to clean out sewers and stuff like that. Couldn't be me!!
Anything that could be called a "desk job". I can't stand being anchored down to a desk again.
I remember my mother telling me while I was growing up to not say you won't do something because God just might have you go do that (in that instance, it was be a missionary to Africa, which I have since gotten over: if God sent me to Africa, I'd be okay with that). Since then, I've tried not to be too negative about jobs one might have. But still, it would be very hard for me to be a janitor in the bathrooms after raucus sporting events at big arenas. They're always so nasty.
See, this is why I love this kind of thing-- all the different perspectives. Everyone makes a great point. I definitely think nursing is a calling and not for everyone. Friend X, you make a great point about the dirty jobs-- I know I couldn't do those because of the smell. And JoshB, I guess it makes sense that punt returners are really, really fast.
This is a tough one, and I've actually been thinking about it for a few days. I think anything that smelled...like sewer cleaning, or mushroom factories, or antyhing like that. My sense of smell is by far my strongest sense, and I don't think I could handle working in an environment that made me continually gag.
Well, the first job that comes to mind for me is a vetnarian. I would get disgusted working on animals.
Personal Attendant at you-know-who’s wedding!
Waaahaahaahaahaahaaa! Jared D, you made my day. :)
