Olympic Obsession

Karis really got into this year's Summer Olympics in Bejing. She's not only competitive (I know, sad, for one so young, but it is what it is-- and a typically 1st born thing) but also quite patriotic. Ever since the Olympics she has been a track and field star.

The other night I was over at their house, and she and Ky were racing. They are serious about their racing. They kneel down, put their feet in the "blocks" (which are usually boxes or anything they can find that will stay put), and even put their fingertips down like the runners did. I showed her how to use her cap gun as the starting pistol which made her quite excited.

The two of them ran their race and at the end, Karis exclaims, "America won!" which made me laugh. I asked Karis if she won the gold and she said she did. Then I asked her if she was respresenting America, which of course, she was. Ky came in second, so I asked Karis, "What country is Kylie from?"

Her response: "She's Chinese."

Yes, we laughed for a long time.
