It's Super Tuesday

So, go vote!

In my new poll, that is. :)

(And you should also vote if your state is having its primary today.)

Because You Can Never Go Wrong With Shoe Pictures

.... at least on my blog. :) On a grey Tuesday, how about a little metallic gold to brighten your day? These t-strap sandals are really lovely, but my favorite part is.....

.... the lace up heel. See?

C'mon, even you non-shoe people must admit that's just cute. Now, if only I had $650....

Because I Hate To See My Blog Neglected...

... here are some quick random bits so at least you have SOMETHING to read.

1. The Super Bowl was AWESOME. Seriously, one of the best I've ever seen. I almost lost my voice for all the yelling. I'm still surprised that that Giants won, but they certainly deserved it. I've never seen Tom Brady on the ground so much. :) I am a *little* bit sad for the Pats, because they were on their way to making history of ginormous proportions. Even so, I was rooting for the Giants and thrilled they won. I was even more thrilled the game was so close and exciting. And the best part of the whole night was having so much fun with friends!

2. I'm crazy for Facebook. (I.e. subtle explanation as to why this blog has been neglected) If you're on Facebook and not one of my friends, look me up. If you're not on Facebook, GET ON! :) Now who would have ever thought I'd be a commercial for Facebook. Strange, but true....

3. In case you didn't hear, I'm going to be an aunt again!!! We found out Christmas Eve that J&K are going to enlarge the family circle in August. We are hoping for a boy, but we'll take a girl, too. I'm excited to meet the new little one.

4. You may have noticed I haven't been posting pictures as much. I'm heartbroken to tell you that I lost my digital camera. It's been about two months and I'm still upset. I keep hoping that it'll turn up... I know exactly when and where I lost it, but I just don't know what happened to it. I loved that camera. Silly, I know, but most of you will understand.

5. I absolutely, positively canNOT believe it's February already. That's just crazy.

Hope you all are well. I do miss blogging! You know I'll get back into the swing of things.

Great Bumper Sticker

Most of you can prollie guess how much I'm NOT looking forward to the upcoming Presidential elections. But the interminable process will be much easier if I can mock it or find some humor, wherever it may be. And we can start here, a bumper sticker, seen in Kentucky:

Monica Lewinsky's Ex-boyfriend's Wife For President

Sweeeeeeeet.

Just Wondering...

I love hearing what y'all think. Getting reader comments is one of the best things about having a blog.

So, here's a question for you:

What is one job you'd NEVER want to have?

You don't have to post anonymously cuz I'm not guessing on this one. ;-)

I think my answer would be truck driver (the long distance kind). While I sincerely appreciate what they do, I couldn't imagine driving a truck constantly, being away from friends and family, not sleeping in your own bed at night, and almost never eating home cooked meals. I think I'd be really bored which you know is something I'd hate.

So, what about you?

Coolest Mom Ever

I found this story and just had to share it. If only more parents would be like this! Maybe someday the kid will thank his mom.

Mom Sells Rule-Breaking Son's Car

DES MOINES, Iowa — JH has dubbed herself the "meanest mom on the planet." After finding alcohol in her son's car, she decided to sell the car and share her 19-year-old's misdeed with everyone by placing an ad in the local newspaper.

The ad reads: "OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don't love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/offer. Call meanest mom on the planet."

JH has heard from people besides interested buyers since recently placing the ad in the paper. The 48-year-old from Fort Dodge says she has fielded more than 70 telephone calls from emergency room technicians, nurses, school counselors and even a Georgia man who wanted to congratulate her.

"The ad cost a fortune, but you know what? I'm telling people what happened here," JH says. "I'm not just gonna put the car for resale when there's nothing wrong with it, except the driver made a dumb decision. It's overwhelming the number of calls I've gotten from people saying 'Thank you, it's nice to see a responsible parent.' So far there are no calls from anyone saying, 'You're really strict. You're real overboard, lady.'"

The only critic is her son, who JH says is "very, very unhappy" with the ad and claims the alcohol was left by a passenger. Hambleton believes her son but has decided mercy isn't the best policy in this case. She says she set two rules when she bought the car at Thanksgiving: No booze, and always keep it locked.

The car has been sold, but JH says she will continue the ad for another week just for the feedback.

Heinous (Combination) Shoes Of The Weekend

You know, I'm not really a country girl, but I do believe, on occasion, a good pair of cowboy boots can be rocked. With the right outfit and setting, I myself might even consider wearing a pair. However. Not this pair.

They're like a weird cross between combat and cowboy boots that got chopped in half. Aggresive reptile texture and strange splashes of turquoise complete the look. Honestly, I can only picture these boots worn by a midget in the Australian Outback who is stomping on rattlers.

Can you picture these boots on anyone else?

Wow. I thought I would stop there, but seriously, what is up with the weird combinations?

Slip on cowboy boot sneakers? Made by none other than Fila?! There are no sufficient words.

Fantasy Shoe of the Year

Why not start 2008 out right with these lovely shoes from Mr. Choo? Hey, they might be $1,080.00, but if you divide it up over 12 months, that's only $90.00 per month! *insert wild laughter here considering I prollie wouldn't even pay $90 for a pair of shoes*
Regardless of the fact that I will never own these shoes, let's take a moment and admire the glorious beauty, shall we?

Ahhhh.

Word Association

I love hearing everyone's answer, so let me start another round.

What comes to mind when you hear the following:

1. New Year

2. sushi

3. Florida

4. rehab

Because I'm Really Cold Today

It's really cold and windy here today so I thought posting pictures from our recent beach trip would make me feel warmer and... sunnier.

And sandier? :)

But hey, seems like it was cold and windy at the beach, too. :)

It's not helping. My fingers are cold.

What A Way To Start The New Year!

So, I thought this up some time ago, but wanted to wait until the perfect opportunity to post it. A fresh new year struck me as the perfect opportunity! So, now I invite you to vote, to put your two cents on....

*drum roll, please*

Which of these are the most heinous shoes EVER?! My contributions are below, however, if you find a shoe that you consider more heinous than any other shoe in the history of mankind, please post the link in the comments section.

**Disclaimer, if you own any or all of these shoes, PLEASE do not be offended. This is my personal opinion, which of course doesn't matter in the grand scheme of life. Wear your favorite shoes with enthusiasm!

Option A: Yes, I know they were once considered "cool" and they do have their place. But you know, the sport sandal has evolved so much that I think the classic Teva needs to be retired into the Shoe Hall Of Fame. The new Tevas are cute, so let's agree to let the ugly ones be left in the closet. What do you think.... is this the most heinous shoe of all time?

Option B: Ah, the Croc, the new kid on the block of Heinousness. Yes, I know they are comfortable. Very comfortable. But c'mon people, they are NEON. And PLASTIC! And make your feet look fat. If you want to wear them when you're gardening, I have no objections. But please, LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THEM!

Option C: The Ugg (ugh?) Boot. Worn mostly by celebrities who live in California where it's almost NEVER cold. I know a lot of people like these and maybe they are great. For me, I categorize them as heinous because (a) they are a trend that REALLY needs to die and (b) you can't tell the different between the men's and women's.

Option D: Wow. Are there sufficient words? Honestly, I expect this one to win because, really, how could you NOT vote this to be the most heinous shoes EVER? I shudder just looking at this picture.

Now post your two cents and your vote in the comments section. :)
