Happy Birthday, Cuteness

We had a party today honoring her 3rd birthday. It was a little chilly, but still, a grand time was had by all.

She's photogenic, isn't she?

Kaia and Luke were quite rowdy!

Happy Easter in Pictures

I hope all of you had a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!

She had all her eggs in one Wal-Mart bag.

She was trying to get the egg hidden under the van.

This picture totally cracks me up.

Yes, they found these.

Alex shows his juggling ability. The look on his face is hilarious.

The boys got to hide the eggs but I had to watch them so they didn't steal the candy out of the eggs first.

The Beauty of Irony

Can you see the irony of this quote?

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."

Associate Them Words

As you know, this is one of my favorite posts. I'm always so interested in the diversity of answers. And it's usually a challenge to come up with new words. So, here we go.... what's the first thing that comes to mind when you read these words?

1. Grin

2. Personal

3. Broadway

4. Larry King

Hmmm...

Open. Closed.

Now you see them.....
.... and now you don't.

And this is why I'm so happy to have my camera back. :)

Seriously. What. In. The. World?

Sheriff: Woman Sat on Toilet for 2 Years

WICHITA, Kan. — Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years — so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.

Ness County Sheriff said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," the sheriff said. "The hospital removed it."

The sheriff said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," he said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,'" Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said. She was reported in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

The case has been the buzz of Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor. "I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said. Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

Fantasy Shoes of the Weekend

Admittedly, not everyone can rock these shoes. They are not for the faint of heart or timid. But these shoes are simply..... luscious. (Hey, that's the first word that came to mind so I decided to go with it.)

Mr. Choo has created yet another masterpiece, although it will set you back $1,080.00. Click here if you want to see an un-blurry picture of this lovely shoe.

Thank you, Mr. Choo, for making me look forward to Spring.

Flashback to Christmas

This is one of the main reasons why I was so upset that I lost my camera. Even if I would have bought another camera, this footage (and other pictures on the card) would have been irreplaceable.

So, this is from our 2007 Christmas Children's Choir presentation- the first one the girlies participated in. The younger one actually likes to sing more than the older one, but she was (obviously) a bit distracted. :)

I'm going to try to take more videos of the girlies. That way I can blackmail them when I'm old and need their help. Hehe.

Thrilling News

I wish I could tell y'all that I passed the Bar, but a close second to THAT great news is this....

.... while I was in California, my mom found my camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though she woke me up when she called to me (she was going to leave a message, but my phone was on), it brought such a huge smile to my face. When I got back home and saw the camera on the table, I actually picked it up and petted it. :) Irrational, yes, I know. But I really do love my camera. It was my first digital and it's been everything I wanted for that camera.

And you know what that means for this blog..... pictures to post! Yea!

This is for akalinear, who was the only one who noticed when I posted (on Facebook) that I added red to my hair. I'm not sure how easy it is to see my hair, but it's the best I've got. It's something different and I like it, but who knows what will happen in another two months. :)

Here's proof of my newfound interest in target shooting. I need more practice, but be careful if you decide to mess with me. ;-)

On Monday, we went to the park for a picnic and took a hike up to the original Washington Monument. This is the view from the Monument. I believe you can see at least two and maybe three states in this picture.

More to come!
