Craziness Abounds
You may or may not know that I now work at my local courthouse. I'm a civil clerk and we work on landlord-tenant cases, peace and protective orders, and all civil cases under $30,000. It's quite an interesting job and I've learned alot so far.
One thing I have learned is that there are a lot of crazy people out there. I could probably tell at least one "crazy person of the week" story. Sometimes it takes a lot of self-control not to tell people what I REALLY think, but I'd like to keep my job, so I don't. :)
Here is a conversation I had recently with a woman who came up to our counter:
(As yet undetermined) Crazy Lady: I'm here to pick up my civil check.
J: *quizzical look* Excuse me?
[In My Head: .... huh....?]
CL: I'm here to pick up my civil check.
J: Do you have a case here?
[IMH: what in the world is she talking about? maybe she thinks she picks up the money from her judgment here?]
CL: Yeah.
J: Do you have a case number?
CL: No, but you can look up my name in the computer.
J: What's your name?
*CL gives name, I look it up*
J: What's your address?
CL: Oh, I have many addresses.
[IMH: Hm. That might be a red flag.]
J: I only have one case with your name but in this case, you are listed as the defendant. Did you come from court?
CL: No, George Bush told me to come down and pick up my civil check.
J: George Bush, the President?
CL: Yeah.
[IMH: Okay, here we go. She might be a little nuts.]
J: We don't have anything like that here.
CL: Well, she told me to come down here and get my civil check.
J: Who told you?
CL: The judge.
[IMH: oh, so now it's the judge that told her.... definitely nuts]
J: Which judge?
CL: She had dark hair.
J: We only have one female judge here and she doesn't have dark hair.
CL: Well, I work for George Bush and I need my civil check.
J: George Bush, the President?
CL: Yes.
[IMH: okay, why is she looking at me like this is completely normal when she has clearly lost her mind?]
I went back and forth a few more times with her and finally got her to understand you don't just get to come to the courthouse and pick up money. Just another fun day at the courthouse!

Need Help
Hey y'all!
Hope you enjoyed your MLKing Day. I did. Uh, mostly because I had the day off. But hey, I did enjoy it. It even snowed here today!
So, I want to change my blog template to a cute one like most of you have. But for some reason (most likely because I haven't taken enough time), I don't understand where to find one and how to set it up. So, if you know and you're inclined to help, please comment or shoot me an email.

Tag! Go Take A Picture!
So, yeah, y'all know I've been blog neglectful. I just noticed Rachy tagged me so I thought I'd go ahead and post while I was sitting here.
Rules:
1. Choose the 4th folder where you store pictures on your computer.
2. Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag four people to do the same.
5. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)
This was one of the first pictures I took with my new digi SLR camera. I was practicing on the automatic sports setting with continuous shooting. And K was practicing on jumping off the electrical box. :) I really love this picture because it shows how active K is. And also, I think her hair looks so funny. Hehe.

Boot Fever
One of the few reasons I look forward to cold weather (the other main one being snow but I've been sorely disappointed on that front) is so I can wear BOOTS!
I'm not saying it's ugly per se, it's just a whole. lotta. boot. Not surprisingly, the ones below also caught my eye. Now, trust me, I'm a huge (HUGE!) fan of peep toes, but put a peep toe... with fringe... in a suede boot? Again, that is just a whole lotta look.

Believe it or not, I haven't actually bought any this winter, but I'm still hoping to. :) I did some research and these uh, special boots caught my eye. Let's just say for $2,595.00 you can get yourself a whole lotta boot:
Alrighty then! I was going to post a picture of boots I would actually buy, but these are too heinous (and thus entertaining) not to post. Oh my word! Would someone actually buy then? Where would you wear them?
Excuse me, I suddenly feel the need to head out to the shoe store..... :) Catch you later.

Windows of Heaven
I was reading in Genesis the other day (uh, yes, it is that time of year according to the Bible reading calendar) and came across the phrase "windows of heaven" in relation to the Flood. Genesis 7:11: "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened."
It triggered my memory of another verse in the Bible where that phrase was used, and I wondered how many times in the Bible it appeared. It appears again in Genesis, explaining that the windows of heaven were stopped. The phrase is used again in Malachi 3:10: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
I have always associated great power with the windows of heaven being opened to create the Flood. But I never thought of it in terms of that same power in opening the windows of heaven to bless us. I was struck with the thought that since it must be the same windows of heaven, how unfathomable is God's power and ability to bless us. It's sad that I limit God and forget how powerful and limitless His blessings really are.

My Sweets
It just dawned on me that I have to change my post tag from "the girlies" to "the kidlets". I actually catch myself still saying "the girls". Hopefully, I'll change my habit before Judah is old enough to actually be offended. :)

The Blog Is Back
It's been so long since I last posted, and even longer since I posted with consistency and heart. I have had so many requests to resurrect this blog, that I figured it was about time. I don't know if I will post as before, but I do promise to give it a valiant effort.
It will take a while to update y'all on my life, so for now, let me just say......
I hope that 2009 brings amazing things your way and proves to be a year like no other. :)
I thought the most hilarious way to bring the blog back and to show you some pictures I took recently. See, I was at a shopping outlet, walking around, minding my own business, perfectly content with my life, when all of a sudden, what did my eyes behold?!?! BAM!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! A. whole. store. devoted. to. Crocs.
I thought y'all would be entertained by the thought of me walking into this heinous store to take pictures JUST to put them up on this blog.

Look at all of them. Crocs of every size and color. Crocs with straps and fuzzy lining. Crocs for men, women, boys, girls, and probably pets (if I could have stayed in there long enough to look.) You cannot imagine the overwhelming stench of neon colored plastic.

I took my shots and ran out as soon as possible. See the sacrifice I made for y'all? I ventured into fashion pit just to be able to bring this blog to y'all. :)
*shudder*
(Pleast note: intentionally overly dramatic for comedic purposes only.)

Yes Please Mr. Choo
You faithful bunch (that have undoubtedly been wondering where in the world I've been) are well aware of my adoration of Mr. Choo. But seriously, look at this shoe:

Stunning.
:) And only slighty out of my price range at $818.00. *ahem*
More posts will be coming... honestly!

Sweet Judah
I really don't know why, but I always use the term "sweet" when referring to Judah. I can't remember if I called the girls sweet, but I always call Judah "sweet". I guess because it seems less girly than "cute"??
It's okay to call boy babies "sweet", right?

Hey I Love Platforms
.... but seriously, these are a bit much, don't you think?

Of course, here's an excerpt from the brand description, which explains things quite clearly.... "DEMONIA's cutting-edge, beyond-the-ordinary line of footwear was designed outside of the mainstream box, catering to the alternative, defiant, and un-conforming individual who seeks the ultimate form of self-expression. Its meaning, female demon, does not exclude the male fans of DEMONIA's underground culture; rather, it's the connotation of the demonic diva that conveys DEMONIA's no nonsense, take-no-prisoner attitude."

That's a little creepy.
Here are two examples of platforms that I would spend my (non-existant) disposable income on:
Those pink shoes are really heinous.
