I went to see Drew a few days ago and had a really nice visit. He seemed to be in good spirits, although battling boredom. As a young, strapping lad, he's anxious to get up and start working so he can pay off his medical bills. He's still not able to walk, due to numbness in his left leg and pain in his right leg. Mostly, he's been told to wait it out. They expect the spinal fluid to continue to dissapate. He told me he has $25,000 worth of titanium in his back and that it was going to be his kids' inheritance! :-D
It's interesting how, when your perspective changes, you are grateful for things you previously loathed. I don't particularly like getting up in the morning, but I am grateful I am not forced to stay in my bed all the time. It's always good to be reminded of how blessed I really am.
