Flashback

This time last year, I went out to Illinois for Thanksgiving. Because J is a huge Illini fan and OF COURSE I'm a Maryland fan, we wanted to go to the MD-IL game. It just happened to be a few days after Thanksgiving. There's a whole 'nother story about getting tickets, but we did end up going and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I must admit it was more enjoyable because Maryland ended Illinois' 50something home game winning streak. It was quite, uh, interesting to be one of the. very. very. few. Maryland fans at the game. I was nervous walking out to the car after the game!

I was reminded of this because the ACC-Big Ten Challenge is an annual event (if you don't get what "ACC" and "Big Ten" mean, don't worry about it). We had planned to attend the game again this year since it was held in Maryland. Unforunately, we weren't able to go, but the good news is that Maryland beat Illinois again! (Sorry, J!)

Thanks to J and J for a fun time last year!

I think the only stadium I might truly be scared to walk into as a fan of another team is Yankee stadium. I'm glad you survived to tell about it...and I'm not exactly an Illini fan, but I'm definitely a Big Ten fan. It's too bad they lost...but I'd take the Terps over a lot of other teams! ;)

who's happy the Illini are playing in the Rose Bowl? Me! bring more $$$ into the Big Ten and win it. =) Not that that'll help my lowly gophs. *sigh*
