The short story is that Rachel Ray began as a star on Food Network and now has her own show on.... uh, some network. One thing I remember about her is that she uses the term "EVOO" which stands for extra virgin olive oil. You can read the longer story here. (Hey, I just found out we share the same birthday. Ah, well, she still annoys me.) Anyhoo, she's okay, but as you can see by the enthusaistic smile in the picture, she's a bit on the perky side for me. I know a lot of people love her, and that's fine, I'm just not one of them.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Someone make her go away.
*sigh* Okay, I think that might have made me feel a tiny bit better. Thanks.
Unfortunately, It's That Time Of Year Again
Can you believe it's October already?! *sigh* Time flying and all that is not something I enjoy.
I hate Halloween. I really, really do. Aside from the fact that it's historically a pagan celebration (although I understand there is some dispute about the origin), there's so many more reasons that I think Halloween shouldn't even be listed as a "holiday".
The decorations are just hideous. Christmas decorations are beautiful and festive and pretty and even magical. (Can't wait for Christmas, y'all!!) Halloween decorations include yucky black things, skeletons, creatures, goblins, and my least favorite-- that nasty webbing stuff. Why would you voluntarily cover your yard and trees with what is basically garbage? Ugh.The colors of Halloween are ugly. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the colors of Fall. Actually, I love pretty much everything about Fall. So, the season is definitely not the issue. I suppose I should be glad it's only one bleak day out of the beautiful Fall season.
I don't believe Halloween has a good or legitimate purpose. I think we can all agree it's not about family togetherness, honoring heroes, or being grateful. It's basically an excuse for people to eat tons of candy, to dress up in skanky outfits they wouldn't normally wear, and to scare themselves silly.
Now, I have nothing against costumes per se (except one that Paris Hilton might call "costume" but is technically lingerie). Costume parties at any time during the year can be really cool and fun.
The way I deal with Halloween now is basically to skip right over it and refuse to acknowledge its existence. Except I just might take advantage of the half price candy after it's over. :)
Hey, I know you may not agree with any part or even all of this, but it's just my opinion and I felt the need for a little rant. So, do you have any opinions about Halloween?

In Honor of Fair Season
| You Are a Roller Coaster |
Your life has more low points and high points than most people's lives. But that's okay - you love them. You figure that a smooth ride is boring!Besides, you know that super high highs only come from knowing super low lows. You cherish every emotion you feel and feel it fully. Why deny what life is truly about? At your best, you are loving life and sharing your wild times with everyone you know. You are able to open your friends up to a whole new world of experiences. At your worst, you feel extremely disoriented and even a bit dizzy. There's only so much intensity a human (even you!) can take. |

The New Photog In The Family
So, anyway, I gave K my very first camera.... a birthday gift I received from her daddy when I turned 15. I loved this camera. And I do mean L-O-V-E. It took great pictures and I still have fond memories of this camera.

*** Joy already gave me a hint and let me know this was her answer. I never would have guessed that since I didn't know she was reader, but I'm glad to know! And yes, Joy, I remember meeting you. When I met you, I thought you were one of the most beautiful people I'd ever met. (And, of course, I still think you're lovely!!) ***

Preteenage girls with designer handbags and jeans.
*** Hmmm... I think this might be akalinear or ej? ***

Girls. They're very annoying. I look at them and get embarrassed that I used to be one! They're cute when they're little, but by the time they reach 8 or so, they know (or think they do!) way too much!
*** This sounds like Rachy or Carrie. ***

let's just say...ENGLISH is the official language of the USofA. The National Anthem is sung in English...no other language!
*** Wow, this is a good answer. Could this be Jared D. or archnemesis?

People who misunderstand EVERYTHING you say!
*** This might be Carrie.... or Friend X... or ...? I'm not really sure.***
Okay, so did I get ANY right? When I played with my family and friends recently, everyone had a different answer and they were all so interesting! My answer then was "people who are on welfare, but who CAN work". I get easily annoyed, though, so I could come up with a lot of answers for this question. :)
