What is it with shadow pictures?

They're awfully fun to take, those shadow portraits. Although people have been known to comment on mine that it's a rather nice "Gumby" picture, I'm not offended. In fact, I started calling it that now, too! But self-portraits get kinda old after a while, and you have to reinvent them (at least I thought so at the time I took mine on Nantucket years ago).
I shall go on as I am -- not understanding them.
I prefer eyeball shots. ;D
