After hearing this sentiment over and over, I started wondering why people use it. Eventually, the reason hit me.

It's dangerous out there! Between crazed drivers, wild children, angry shoppers, irate retail workers, harried moms, bored bell-ringers, and drunk Santas, it's like a battle zone.

So, hey, have a safe holiday.
