When people call you weird, do you get offended? To me, it's a compliment, an affirmation that I'm different and unique and special. I don't particularly like to look, dress, talk, or act just like everyone else. I wasn't always this way- when I was younger, I was more of a "follow-the-crowd" kinda girl. Perhaps that's why I see it as a strength of character to be your own person.
Don't get me wrong-- I don't swing to the other side where I feel the need to be SO weird in order to garner attention or make a point. I'm shooting for a balanced uniqueness- a touch of mainstream with a bit of anti-establishment thrown in.
So, what is it about you that makes people say, "You're weird."?
1. I Don't Like Chocolate- dark, white, or milk.
This is, by far, the most common thing people (read: women) find weird about me. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate bars, and chocolate cake don't tempt me in the least. I'd rather not have truffles or chocolate syrup or fudge. Most people who know this about me seem to find it truly shocking, and I think that's cool.
If a guy tried to woo me with chocolate, he wouldn't get far at all. In fact, I'd probably be insulted that he didn't know me well enough to know I wouldn't want chocolate. Now cheesecake, on the other hand....
To expand on my weirdness, there are exceptions to this rule. I do enjoy brownies, M&Ms, and Oreos. If the chocolate is paired with something else- say, peanut butter or caramel, then I'd probably go for it. Sometimes I won't. No, I can't explain this, but it's the truth.
2. I Don't Drink Coffee.
A few of my law school classmates still don't believe I made it all the way through law school without drinking coffee. I tell them just because coffee is not my legal addictive stimulant of choice doesn't mean I don't have one.
My parents don't drink coffee, so it was never in our house. For guests, my mom still uses the coffee maker that she got as a wedding gift 32 years ago. You should see it- it's ancient. But hey, it works!
I'm not sure I actually dislike coffee, since I've honestly never tried it. (As you read that, you said, "Wow, she's weird!" didn't you?) But I avoid it because I'm certain I'll like the most expensive choice on the Starbucks menu and then become completely addicted. I just can't afford that. :)
3. I Like To File
Fellow organization freaks may understand and appreciate this, but I genuinely like to file things. I like organization and order and having my space clutter-free. I like knowing that I can find important documents if I need to.
I have a filing cabinet in my room.
4. I Like To Clean Bathrooms
I don't think I will even try to explain this, I just do.
Certainly this doesn't exhaust the list of things about me that might be "weird", but these were the first to come to mind.
Be yourself. Be who God wants you to be.

Yes, according to your first two statements, you are weird. :) I do totally agree with the last two, however. The first "weird" thing about me that comes to mind is that I am allergic to peppermint. It makes me sneeze if I chew gum or eat a mint. But I still love chewing gum and eating mints, so I just sneeze a lot. :)
Rachy, thanks for the comment-- it made me crack up. I don't think it's weird that you are allergic to peppermint. What I DO think is weird is that you go ahead and chew gum/ eat mints even though you are and you know it will make you sneeze! LOL
